LI: To draw the lines between the words to show how the connections you have made.

this week our task for reading was to make a dot to dot connections about the Kuaka Brid’ Someing our group found interesting was we coulden’t  think of any

connections with the words because we didn’t talk that much but it was okay because we were starting to talk and we started to collaborate.

My Pepeha

Our challenge today was to write and record our pepeha to introduce ourselves. I found this interesting because I get to learn my Pepeha in Maori because I can learn Maori and understand to help people know what it means and what they are saying. Representing the Maori Culture and where your from making you feel proud of where you come from too. No reira tena koutou katoa. Thus my acknowledgment to you all. Thank you for listening to my Pepeha and whakapapa.

North Island Kokako

LI: To use our smart searching skills.   Our Year 7/8 camp was at Kokako Lodge in Hunua. Our challenge today was to use our smart searching skills to find out about the kokako bird and create an infographic to share the facts we researched in our own words. Something I found interesting about the kokako bird was that the kokako bird is a large song bird.

Reading

LI: To understand that everyone has a role to play when we are working in groups.  In LS2 we learn best when we learn with and from each other to help us with our learning and help us with communicating with our other classmates. What your responsibility as a group member is to always help other be included and help our group with their work. How working in a group helped you understand more about the kuaka because they all gave information about the kuaka that they know and we create them into ideas. Why talking to others about your learning is important because it can tell us more about the information we are learning about and to help us communicate. Something I enjoyed is that I can work with my group and have some fun with them.

A Moment in time

At camp we had lots of challenge activities to try. Our challenge in with our poem was to chose our words carefully so that we painted a clear picture of what we were describing in the mind of our readers and I have described what it was like to to feel facing our fears while challenging ourself to the activities we were doing at camp. We chose this challenge because we can tell the world how we felt facing our fears and the activities.

adobe Express

This is the image I created using the Adobe Express. I found this activity challenging because we have no idea of what a scary valley looks like but I found it fun because we choose our own design and make it look super scary. Something I learnt when using prompts for AI is to always have a lot of details so you can get the drawing or photo of what it looks like.

Samuel Marsden

LI: To use our smart searching skills to find out who Samuel Marsden was and what he is known for.

For this activity, we used our smart searching skills to find out who is Samuel Marsden and What he did in New Zealand. To make sure our facts were correct we used three different websites. The websites I used were NZ Geographic and NZ History. Something interesting I found out about Samuel marsden was when he came to New Zealand to introduce Christianity to the Maori people. I found this activity interesting because I got to learn different things about Samuel Marsden and his family.
